About the Artist – Michèle Aubourg

Michèle Aubourg was born in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, and grew up in an artistic family—both her mother and her grandmother were artists. This creative environment shaped her path early on and led her to study art and textile design.

Today, Michèle draws inspiration from nature—particularly flora and fauna—as well as colors, books, fabrics, fashion, and everything aesthetically beautiful. Her works are characterized by a bold use of color, distinctive motifs, and a palpable zest for life.

Michèle Aubourg’s designs are often bright, expressive, and charming, making her a popular artist in the field of decorative design—especially on products like Dunoon’s high-quality mugs.

In addition to her creative work, Michèle is also a passionate animal lover. She lives with a Border Collie, three cats, and an Appaloosa horse, all of whom enrich her life just as much as her art.
