Plantation Information

Singbulli Plantation

The Singbulli Plantation is located in the Mirik area of Darjeeling and is one of the region’s most renowned tea gardens. Its history dates back to 1924, when it was founded by British planters. The estate spans nine hilly areas and is divided into four divisions: Singbulli, Manja, Tingling, and Murmah.

The cultivation areas are situated at altitudes ranging from approximately 1,200 to 4,100 feet above sea level. The area planted with tea covers around 473.95 hectares. Additionally, about 106.57 hectares are irrigated. Annual production is around 245 to 250 tons of tea.

The plantation’s historical development also includes its continued operation under new management in the 21st century. Today, Singbulli is known for its ecological management of the garden areas, soil conservation measures, and organic cultivation. The garden also features a significant proportion of high-quality clonal plantings.

Due to its size, its location in the Mirik Valley, and its history dating back to the British colonial era, Singbulli is still considered a traditional and historically significant plantation within the Darjeeling growing region.
