As a “first flush” tea, it is harvested from the first tender buds and leaves that grow for the first time after winter and possess a very special intensity and freshness. The FTGFOP1 grade (Finest Tippy Golden Flowery Orange Pekoe) ensures that only the finest leaves and buds are used, resulting in tea of the highest quality.

Plantation Information

Snowview Plantation

The Snowview plantation is located in the Kalimpong region of West Bengal, between the mountains of Bhutan and the foothills of the Himalayas. It owes its name to the unobstructed view of snow-capped peaks. Snowview is one of the region’s most historic tea gardens and has been growing tea since 1870.

The plantation is situated at an altitude of about 1,000 meters and covers approximately 600 hectares. Annual production is around 300,000 kilograms of Darjeeling tea, making Snowview one of the larger gardens in the region.

An integral part of the plantation’s history is its location within a biodiverse natural area. Snowview is surrounded by several forest reserves, including Gorumara, Jaldakah, and Chapramari. The Murti River also flows through the area. This unique location continues to shape the plantation to this day.

In recent years, Snowview has also become known for its efforts to protect migratory elephants. The plantation received Elephant-Friendly certification in 2020. In addition, Snowview is known for organic farming and Fairtrade projects.
