Lumbini Ceylon Malty Black – A robust, malty black tea from Ruhuna
Origin & Terroir
Directly from the renowned Lumbini Tea Valley in southern Ruhuna (Sri Lanka/Ceylon), near the Sinharaja Rainforest. The warm, humid microclimate of the low-grown regions yields an intensely aromatic, copper-red cup.
Leaf Grade & Processing
Carefully hand-picked, orthodox-processed black tea. Finely rolled leaf particles with tippy elements (“malty style”) for a clear structure, rich color, and high extract.
Aroma & Taste
Distinctively malty with honey-sweet depth, notes of cocoa, dates/raisins, and gentle spicy warmth. Full-bodied, round mouthfeel, subtle astringency—great on its own, particularly harmonious with a dash of milk.
Brewing Recommendation
2–3 g per 200 ml, 95–100 °C, steep for 2–3 min. (stronger: 3–4 min.). Ideal for a teapot, tea strainer, or paper filter. As a cold brew: 6–8 hours in the refrigerator, velvety and sweet.
