Finca La Mejorana Coffee Plantation in Colombia

The Finca La Mejorana coffee plantation is located in the Huila region in southern Colombia. It sits at an elevation of 1,700 to 1,900 meters in the Colombian Andes. Throughout the year, the climate here offers ideal conditions for growing high-quality Arabica beans.

At Finca La Mejorana, only the Arabica varieties Caturra and Castillo are grown. The coffee plants are cultivated under shade trees, which create an optimal microclimate for slow growth and the development of rich aromas.

Harvesting takes place by hand from April to July. This ensures that only ripe, high-quality coffee cherries are harvested. Processing is done using the so-called washed method. In this process, the fruit is removed, the beans are fermented, and then washed.

This labor-intensive process optimally preserves the beans’ aromatic qualities. The coffee from Finca La Mejorana therefore captivates with a balanced, mild flavor featuring notes of nut and honey, as well as a silky, smooth texture.

Thanks to the high quality of the beans and the gentle processing, the coffee is entitled to bear the protected designation of origin “Colombia Supremo.” Finca La Mejorana produces a coffee that embodies the organoleptic characteristics of a typical Colombian Arabica coffee in its purest form.
